Northwestern Career Advancement - Career Development Fund (CDF): Graduate/Professional School Test Prep and Application Fee Support

Northwestern Career Advancement (NCA) provides funding to support or supplement the career development needs of undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need. Students can apply to receive funding to support graduate/professional school test preparation and application expenses.

Please Note: There is a $600 maximum. We recommend that you apply for this funding at the time that best aligns with your graduate/professional school application timeline. To the extent possible, please plan to include all expected expenses related to your test preparation and application costs at one time, however, we understand this is not always possible. Students will receive payment by reimbursement when receipts are submitted; upfront funding is not available. For special circumstances, please contact nca@northwestern.edu. Students must make purchases & submit receipts and essay prior to graduating from Northwestern. We are not able to process payments to students after graduation.

Please Note: Applications will not be reviewed over the week of Thanksgiving (week of November 22) or Winter Break (December 6th to January 2nd). Please expect a delay in processing during those times.

To maximize your funding, students should explore any possible fee assistance or waivers available. For more information, visit this website.

Timelines for funding can be found on the NCA website. The application committee cannot guarantee an expedited process, however, any urgent requests should be addressed to nca@northwestern.edu.
