Medill JR/MOTH Grant
The fund supplements students involved in a journalism residency program. Funding cannot offset the cost of more than one apartment, entertainment expenses, gym memberships or to help in the case of lost or stolen goods or services. This also cannot replace non-work-study income students earn in a typical quarter.
Students going on JR or MOTH are eligible to apply for funding three weeks prior to the start of their JR/MOTH quarter. Funds are not dispersed until after residency has started. Students may apply anytime during their residency/MOTH, up until the final work/class day.
Decisions are made by the Student Experience Fund Committee. The committee begins considering requests 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the quarter. Students will be notified within seven business days of their request.

To do this, you will need to download and fill out this Budget for your Quarter Away from Campus form. Use this cost of living website to determine the cost of living percentage. Once you've added the cost of living and your JR pay, attach the final excel sheet. The cost of living difference on your completed excel sheet does not guarantee any specific funding but is used in the process.
