Student Activities Assistance Fund (SAAF)

The Student Activities Assistance Fund supports students with their personal expenses related to activities required by student organizations & activities, fraternities & sororities from the four social councils, and competitive sports. Award offers are dependent upon student’s level of financial need (defined by Northwestern Financial Aid), total anticipated expense amount, and categories of expenses. The SAAF is intended to lower the hurdle for students to be full participants in activities and functions as a reimbursement. Full information and eligibility details about the SAAF available on the SOA website in the ‘Students’ tab. The SAAF has multiple cycles with windows to apply to accommodate responses a high volume of requests – please apply in the window that corresponds with when you are expected to cover the expense for which you are seeking an SAAF offer. Applicants may include expenses from more than one involvement and may only apply once per cycle. Students may apply in each cycle for relevant expenses.
