The Daily Northwestern’s Special Stipend Program
Prospective applicants must be a current Daily staffer that has graduated from the recruitment (Devo) process.
Eligible students must apply each quarter for Special Stipend consideration. The number of awards is determined at the beginning of each quarter based on budget and can be discontinued in subsequent quarters. For Winter, 2025 there are 6 awards available.
The Daily Northwestern’s Special Stipend Program seeks to recruit and support staffers with financial need in moving forward with their time at The Daily given the time commitment that some staffers take on in the newsroom.
Each quarter, eligible students can apply to receive stipends to support their work as a staff member of The Daily.
Each selected student receives up to $500 per quarter. Award can change if student does not maintain a consistent time commitment to The Daily.
Students will receive payment twice a quarter: $250 around week 7 and another $250 during finals week.
