Student Activities Assistance Fund (SAAF)

The Student Activities Assistance Fund is donor-supported and intended to reimburse students for out-of-pocket expenses for eligible registered student organization, competitive sport, fraternity and sorority costs. The SAAF award considers a student’s financial need index (FNI) as provided by Financial Aid, the item costs, and the budget available to this program each year. Students may receive no more than $700 in total reimbursements in an academic year.

Students may apply once each cycle. Applicants are expected to apply in the proper cycle with their anticipated costs (not already spent) and follow-up to submit proof of payment/receipts by the published cycle deadline on the SOA website. Applicants who are offered an award and fail to submit proof of payment/receipt in the post-acceptance form by the deadline will forfeit their offer. More info about the SAAF including commonly eligible items, future cycle details, and other frequently asked questions available at: https://www.northwestern.edu/studentorgs/saaf/
